In this last episode of the third series, Anna María Milosz sits down with Thora and tells us about her experience with cancer and the healthcare system in Iceland as a foreigner. Anna Maria is Polish and was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer in 2007. She tells us about the cancer and her overall experience being a foreigner with cancer, what can be done better and what is already good. She recommends that cancer patients take family and/or friends with them to doctors appointments and reminds us that everyone has a right to an interpreter. She also encourages people to contact Kraftur or Ljósið to get the support they need.
